November 7th RRFM Reflections

Thank you to everyone who participated in the final RRFM Toronto West End (@ Campbell Park) of 2015!
Although the weather threatened to keep us indoors, we were warmed by the spirit of market-goers and volunteers and managed to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor clubhouse spaces on Saturday.  Several wonderful items passed through the market, which found new homes, including some winter jackets, kitchen pans, a child's toboggan, and even a football chair!  We also had a gift-wrapping service available to those who wished to personalize a parcel or two with some creative ribbon work.

Thank you again for your support in 2015 and we look forward to seeing you in 2016! Stay tuned for more information regarding dates and any organizational changes.  If you are interested in volunteering with the RRFM Toronto West End please email us at rrfmarket@gmail.com.

Gift wrapping service at the Nov 7 market!

Hi RRFM folks!
A special service will be available at our November 7th market: gift wrapping!  Bring your own wrapping paper and a few RRFM volunteers will be happy to wrap up to two gifts per person (maybe more during quiet periods). Perhaps you will find a gift at the market but also feel free to bring something from home to be wrapped.  See you then!

Another RRFM in Toronto: the North York Really Really Free Market!

Exciting news, free marketers: another Really Really Free Market (RRFM) is about to happen in Toronto! It looks like it might turn into a regular market, taking place approximately four times a year.

The North York Really Really Free Market has just received permission to operate at the Driftwood Community Centre (4401 Jane St, north of Jane and Finch) on Saturday, November 21st.

If you live in North York or don't mind traveling there, then please check out the market that day. Note that the North York RRFM, like all such markets, is independent of other RRFM's, and is not affiliated with ours that takes place at Campbell Park. However, since we support all Really Really Free Markets, you might see some familiar volunteers from the Campbell Park scene.

The good news for you is that there are at least two Really Really Free Markets in November: ours at Campbell Park on November 7th, and the one in North York at Driftwood Community Centre on November 21st. Hope you make it to both!

**Keep in mind also that our market will go into a winter hiatus after the November market. Don't miss it!!! **

Missing CD

Hello friends of the RRFM!
A CD was accidentally donated on September 5th and we hope that one of you might have it and be willing to return it to the RRFM. It's a CD for a "Canadian Securities Course" and it is covered in packaging described as 'dusty blue background with black drawings, for a Canadian band'.
Please email us at rrfmarket@gmail.com if you have any leads. Thank you!

Reflections on the September 5th RRFM

Thank you to everyone who joined in on the community fun at the latest RRFM!  It was a beautiful, sunny day and we enjoyed a steady flow of community members and awesome items through our spot in the park.  Seasoned market-goers and new faces came together to chat, laugh, drop stuff off, and pick through some amazing collections (including a new ART section!) that have now found new homes.

We look forward to seeing you all at the next RRFM, scheduled for October 3.  If you are interested in volunteering with the RRFM please email us at rrfmarket@gmail.com. RRFM LOVVVVVE!!!!!!

RRFM TOMORROW (SEPT 5) at CAMPBELL PARK!!

This is a friendly reminder that the RRFM will take place tomorrow from 10am-4pm at Campbell Park!!
If you haven't been to the RRFM before, we aim to create community by:

1.     Giving space: Following people who bring items to the market or waiting next to them while they put their items on the table is inappropriate.

2.     Courtesy: Take turns examining items.
3.     Sharing: Competing for goods contradicts the market’s mission of sharing.
4.     Friendship & community: We are here to have fun together!

5.     Common sense: The market is not a recycling facility, and cannot accept broken, torn or stained items.

There is also a "shopping cart" guideline for collecting materials; single market-goers are kindly asked to limit their collections to one shopping cart worth of items before 3pm, for families a maximum of two shopping carts. Our hope with this guideline is that it will allow as many different people coming to the market to have the opportunity to access as many different items as possible. Keep in mind though that after 3pm, anyone is free to take as much as they like. Feel free to email us at rrfmarket@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thanks, and free market love to all!

New policy at the August market

We will be implementing a new guideline at the next market (August 1st). From now on, single market-goers will be asked to limit to a maximum of one shopping cart worth of items. For families, a maximum of two shopping carts. Our hope with this guideline is that it will allow as many different people coming to the market to have the opportunity to access as many different items as possible. Keep in mind though that after 3pm, anyone is free to take as much as they like. Feel free to email us at rrfmarket@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thanks, and free market love to all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
